Windows 8 With HTML5 Apps

Windows 8 will now offer a touch-centric new interface for apps that have been designed using JavaScript and HTML5 and make the most of conventional Windows Platform. While demonstrating Windows 8 with HTML5 apps at the D9 conference, Microsoft also flaunted a brand new Start screen intended after the home page of Windows Phone 7.

According to the company, this new interface is tiled and it beautifully replaces the Windows Start menu with a full screen view of apps that is both scalable and customizable. Company's desktop windows operating system is significantly different from its mobile windows CE core operating system. However, two of them are expected to grow closer in their appearance because of Windows 8's top level interface that is very similar to Zune and Windows Phone 7.

Mac OS X vs. iOS

On the contrary, Apple's desktop Mac OS X and mobile iOS not just draw on the optimized versions of company's proprietary Cocoa Development Platform for delivering native apps, but also share the same core operating system. One thing that makes them dissimilar is their interface as Mac OS X holds a mouse based windowing environment, while iOS devices such as iPad and iPhone deliver a touch-based interface. Prior to moving, Windows Phone 7 to bring Microsoft's 'Silverlight' into play as its mobile app platform, the efforts by Microsoft revolved around company's.Net APIs for building a consistent development environment for both its desktop Windows XP / Vista / 7 platform and Windows CE-based Windows Mobile 6.

What's More About Windows 8 Apps ……

As of now, Microsoft has announced a new shift that effects HTML5 to deliver web-powered and web-connected applications that will run next to legacy Windows apps on the approaching Windows 8. This is quite similar to webOS platform by HP that was attained from Palm. Although the approach is designed and optimized for touch, still the company said that it will work great with keyboard and mouse, as well.In early 90's, Microsoft took a quick approach to becoming equal to Apple's Macintosh and introduced a Mac-like user interface on top of DOS for offering Windows so that their OS could look like Mac.

Now, the new HTML5 layer of Windows 8 works like Dashboard layer of Mac OS X and supplies a quick access to simple widgets. Including this, the Windows 8 apps are designed to provide a layer of highly animated and touch based applications that can easily compete with native apps running on Apple's iPad. Moreover, Windows 8 is planned to be easily installed on highly mobile gadgets like ARM based tablets. But unlike Apple's iOS, Microsoft's tile based Zune interface has not found a significant and sustainable audience yet.
