Mission and vision statements forms an important part of a company’s marketing strategy. Not only does your company’s value strategy play an important role when writing them but your marketing objectives and goals are also defined by these statements.
A mission statement is defined as “a statement of the organisation’s purpose, what it wants to accomplish in the larger environment.” Ideally the mission statement should be written in such a way that it guide employees to achieve the company’s overall goals and provide a clear idea of the company’s business activities to outsiders. Your vision statement comprises the long-term goals and the identity of the company and can be described as the ‘dream of the entrepreneur.’ An example of a long-term goal can be becoming the market leader in cosmetic products. The vision should be clear, concise and convey what they company want to achieve.
